Course description: The Vocational Nursing program is fully approved by the Texas Board of
Nursing (BON) and is a certificate program. This program is designed to prepare entry-level
practitioners to provide direct care to patients of all age groups under the supervision of a
registered nurse or licensed physician. Emphasis is placed upon the ability to make sound
judgements based on the knowledge of scientific principles and the ability to utilize technical
skills in a variety of settings.
Course prerequisites: Successful Completion of all courses of semester one and two of the
Vocational Nursing program.

Daily grades (Ex: Quizzes, EAQ, ATI assignments, other assignments)
Final grade scale: A: 90-100
B: 80-89
C : 77-79
D: 65-76
F: 0-64

Late work policy: Late work will not be accepted. A grade of zero will be recorded for late work.
One make-up exam may be taken if the student is unable to attend and notifies the instructor
prior to the exam time. Any exams on excess of one or without notification will be recorded as
a zero.

A student may withdraw from a course on or after the official date of record. It is the student’s
