All homework and quizzes are completed online using Thinkwell. The first day of class; please log into Canvas and click on the Thinkwell tab. If for any reason you cannot log into Thinkwell from Canvas, email me immediately. Everyone needs an access code for Thinkwell before they may complete any assignments.

Homework:

The homework section of your assignments should be used as practice for the quizzes. Each homework question may be attempted multiple times.

Quizzes:

All scheduled weekly quizzes will be due by Friday night at 10:00 pm for attendance purposes.   Quizzes may be attempted many times, but as soon as you score a grade of 80% move on to the next assignment. Only the highest score will be counted in your average. If you are locked out of your quizzes, please email me at once and I will unlock your quiz. Do NOT use any notes or help to complete quizzes. Quizzes will not be reopened with exception to extreme emergencies and administrative problems.

Tests:

There are four tests (not including the final) each test counts 15%. Each chapter test will have a time limit of 1 hour and the final will be 2 hours. Students will be allowed to use an approved calculator (no cell phones) on each test.  While taking each test, you are NOT to use any notes or information from the book and are not allowed to use any unapproved material. Make-up tests are not allowed. However, your final exam grade will replace a previous exam grade if it is better.

The final exam will be comprehensive and is required of all students. The final exam must be completed by the end of the schedule time and day for this class’s final.  No exceptions. Please keep in mind you may take your final early.

ATTENDANCE POLICY

Regular and punctual attendance is expected of all students in all classes for which they have registered.  All absences are considered to be unauthorized unless the student is absent due to illness or emergencies.  It is the student’s responsibility to provide documentation as to the emergency for approval by the faculty member.  Approved college-sponsored activities are also excused absences.  The instructor is responsible for judging the validity of any reason given for an absence.  Valid reasons for absence, however, do not relieve the student of the responsibility for making up required work.  Students will not be allowed to make up an examination missed due to absence unless the absence is documented and excused by the instructor.  Student will be dropped from a class by the Registrar upon recommendation of the instructor who feels the student has been justifiably absent or tardy a sufficient number of times to preclude meeting the course’s objectives.    Persistent, unjustified absences from classes or laboratories will be considered sufficient cause for College officials to drop a student from the rolls of the College. From Board Policy FC (LOCAL)
