Homework:  All homework assignments are to be completed on the computer using MyStatLab. Homework is not part of the overall grade, however, it is an important component in student success for this course. Homework reinforces the topics from each section. Homework assignments will have unlimited number of attempts and the highest score will be recorded.

Quizzes: Online quizzes are assigned using MyStatLab approximately each week. Students will have three attempts and 1 hour 15 minutes for each online quiz attempt. The highest score will be recorded.

Excel Projects:  The Microsoft Excel spreadsheet program will be utilized for completion of four projects during the semester. Instructions for completing each project will be given in Canvas.  See the Excel document in the Course Orientation module in Canvas for more information

Tests: The tests will be given according to the tentative calendar (See CANVAS).  These are paper and pencil exams in the classroom. There is only one attempt on a test. Calculators may be used on the test. There are NO Makeup exams. The final exam may be used to replace one low test grade as long as the student has only one week of missing assignments.

Final Exam: The final exam is comprehensive and required of all students. The final exam will be given in class with a time limit and only one attempt. The final exam may replace one low test grade as long as the student has only one week of missing assignments. See final exam schedule on the NCTC web page.

Valid reasons for absence, however, do not relieve the student of the responsibility for making up required work. Students will not be allowed to make up an examination missed due to absence unless the absence is documented and excused by the instructor. Student will be dropped from a class by the Registrar upon recommendation of the instructor who feels the student has been justifiably absent or tardy a sufficient number of times to preclude meeting the course’s objectives. Persistent, unjustified absences from classes or laboratories will be considered sufficient cause for College officials to drop a student from the rolls of the College. From Board Policy FC (LOCAL)
