Compute and interpret empirical and theoretical probabilities using the rules of

probabilities and combinatorics.

Explain the role of probability in statistics.

5

Examine, analyze and compare various sampling distributions for both discrete and

continuous random variables.

6

Describe and compute confidence intervals.

7

Solve linear regression and correlation problems.

8

Perform hypothesis testing using statistical methods.

ATTENDANCE POLICY

Regular and punctual attendance is expected of all students in all classes for which they have registered.  Students are responsible for keeping up with what occurs in class when they are absent.  Dropping a course is the student's responsibility, but you may be dropped for excessive absence if you miss more than 2 classes.  See Attendance Regulations in the North Central Texas College Catalog.

TENTATIVE TEST SCHEDULE

Exam 1:  Tuesday, September 6th

Exam 2:  Tuesday, September 27th

Exam 3:  Tuesday, October 18th

Exam 4:  Tuesday, November 8th

Final exam (comprehensive):  Tuesday, December 6th

There will NOT be any make-up exams.  A missed exam will result in a zero.

Any student that does not have more than 2 absences and 2 tardies at the end of the semester, and has a final exam score that is higher than the lowest of the 4 unit exams, will have the lowest of the 4 unit exam scores replaced with the score earned on the final. In this case the final exam will be weighted 24% of the overall grade.  This will be the remedy for a missed exam during the semester.

Last day to withdraw from a course with a “W” is November 3 rd , 2016.
