Description
A study of medical terminology, word origin, structure, and application with an emphasis on building a professional vocabulary required for employment within the allied health care field.
Upon completion, students will be able to define, pronounce, and spell medical terms with the use of medical references as resource tools; demonstrate effective communication of medical terms in all levels of health care; utilize medical terms in context of allied health care fields; analyze word origin and structure through the introduction of prefixes, suffixes, root words, plurals, abbreviations, and symbols; and apply critical thinking skills when communicating medical terminology of human anatomy ahd physiology, disease disorders, and procedures.
