Course description: A survey of the political, social, economic, cultural, and intellectual history of Texas from the pre-Columbian era to the present. Themes that may be addressed in Texas History include: Spanish colonization and Spanish Texas; Mexican Texas; the Republic of Texas; statehood and secession; oil, industrialization, and urbanization; civil rights; and modern Texas.

A = 90-100 Average
B = 80-89 Average
C = 70-79 Average
D = 60-69 Average

Late work policy:
There is no extra credit available. Grades will be based on above graded assignments listed. Late work may be allowed for extreme or medical circumstances, with possible reduction of points penalty. See further details regarding Late Work Policy in the Syllabus Addendum document posted on Canvas.

COURSE POLICIES
Academic Integrity Policy:
Scholastic dishonesty shall include, but is not limited to cheating, plagiarism, academic falsification, intellectual property dishonesty, academic dishonesty facilitation and collusion. Consequences for academic dishonesty may include:
1) The student will receive a failing grade of "O" on the assignment.
2) A "Scholastic Dishonesty Report Form" will be submitted regarding the incident.
3) Student may be dropped from the course with a failing grade (letter grade of “F”).
Attendance Policy:
This will be measured through face to face attendance, participation, attitude and completion of all Canvas Homework, Exams, Quizzes and Essay/research Paper Assignments.
Withdrawal Policy
A student may withdraw from a course on or after the official date of record. It is the student’s responsibility to initiate and complete a Withdrawal Request Form.
Last day to withdraw from the course with a “W” is: Monday, April 3rd, 2023
