Course description: A survey of the political, social, economic, cultural, and intellectual history of Texas from the pre-Columbian era to the present.  Themes that may be addressed in Texas History include: Spanish colonization and Spanish Texas; Mexican Texas; the Republic of Texas; statehood and secession; oil, industrialization, and urbanization; civil rights; and modern Texas.

12 Activities @ 25 points each = 300 points
1 Writing Assignment @ 100 points = 100 points

Final grade scale: 

720 + points = A
640 - 719 points = B
560 - 639 points = C
480 - 559 points = D
Below 480 points = F

Late work policy:

I do not accept any written work late (activities and writing assignment).  You may submit Test 1, Test 2 or Test 3 one day late but there will be a 10% reduction in your grade.

COURSE POLICIES

Academic Integrity Policy: I expect you to complete your own work.  Cheating on any assignment will result in a grade of 0 on that assignment with no chance of making it up.  Plagiarism will result in a grade of 0 for any assignment you plagiarize.  If you do not understand what plagiarism is, contact me.

Attendance Policy:  There is no attendance policy for this class since it is entirely online.  I do expect you to log in regularly.  Failure to do that will result in missing assignments that cannot be made up.

Withdrawal Policy:

A student may withdraw from a course on or after the official date of record. It is the student’s responsibility to initiate and complete a Withdrawal Request Form.

Last day to withdraw from the course with a “W” is:  Monday, October 31
