 ATTENDANCE POLICY

Regular and punctual attendance is expected of all students in all classes for which they have registered. Students absent or tardy (excused or unexcused) 15% or more may receive an “F” for the course or may be dropped from the course. A student that is compelled to be absent when a test is given, will petition the instructor, in advance, for permission to take the exam early. Assignments not completed by posted due dates will not be accepted. Students may be dropped from a class by the Registrar upon recommendation of the instructor who feels the student has been absent or tardy a sufficient number of times to preclude meeting the course's objectives. Persistent, unjustified absences from classes or laboratories may be considered sufficient cause for College officials to drop a student from the rolls of the College. Always communicate with your instructor.

If you must miss an assignment due date: You are required to let your instructor know ahead of time. If that is not possible, you must communicate with your instructor as soon as possible. There really is no excuse not to the do the work, readings, etc. Assignments and tests that are not completed by the posted due dates will not be accepted without instructor approval and will be graded as "0".  Even with instructor approval it is not possible to receive full credit for a late submission, a minimum of 10 points will be deducted. Attendance in an online class is rated by participation. You are expected to work in the course a minimum of two times each week. Failure to keep up with course work may result in a student being dropped from the course.

At the instructor's sole discretion, a student may be allowed to drop one exam grade from the required exams given during the course. Requests to drop an exam grade must be submitted to the instructor, in writing or via email, prior to the last day of the semester.

Exceptions:

  • Any assignment that was not completed by the posted due date, once a "0" has been entered for an assignment or test that was not completed by the due date it may not be changed.
  • The Final Exam may not be dropped under any circumstances.
  • Any "0" that has been entered into the grade book due to academic dishonesty.

EPA Certification testing is broken into four sections. Four separate EPA mandated testing sessions will be conducted on campus during the course. Attendance at  four testing sessions is mandatory.

Last day to Withdraw from a course with a “W” is:

November 23, 2020
