An introduction to the refrigeration cycle, heat transfer theory, temperature/pressure relationship, refrigerant handling, refrigeration components, and safety.

Late Work Policy:
Assignments submitted late will not be accepted unless prior approval from the instructor has been obtained. Incomplete assignments will also not be accepted.
COURSE POLICIES
Academic Integrity Policy:
Scholastic dishonesty, such as cheating, plagiarism, or collusion, will not be tolerated. A first offense will result in a grade of 0 on the assignment; a second offense will be reported to college authorities and may result in removal from the course or college.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy:
Use of generative AI tools, including language models, is not permitted for completing graded assignments unless otherwise specified by the instructor. Students must disclose any AI assistance used.
Attendance Policy:
Regular and punctual attendance is expected. Absences without valid reasons or proper documentation will result in a zero for missed assignments unless arrangements are made in advance with the instructor.
STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES (WECM)
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
1. Identify various types of system applications.
2. Perform charging, recovery, and evacuation procedures on installed systems.
3. Perform diagnostics and replacement of system components and parts.
4. Conduct system maintenance on HVAC units.

SYLLABI STATEMENT REGARDING POTENTIAL CONVERSION TO ONLINE/REMOTE FORMAT
In the event of a college closure due to a health-related crisis, onsite classes will transition to an online/remote format. A 72-hour transition grace period will be provided.
