Description

An introduction to basic direct current (DC) theory including electron theory and direct current applications.
32 lecture hours + 32 laboratory hours.

At the conclusion of the course a student will be able to: Explain atomic structure and basic electrical values such as voltage, current, resistance, and power; calculate electrical values for series, parallel, and combination circuits; calculate voltage drop based on conductor length, type of material, and size; summarize the principles of magnetism; and utilize electrical measuring instruments.
