 An overview of the skills and knowledge necessary for the field of cosmetology.

Course Prerequisite(s):

Capstone Requirement: The capstone requirement for the Cosmetology Operator certificate is CSME 2441.  It should be taken the last semester before graduation.  This course may not be substituted.

LATE HOMEWORK POLICY

If you miss your final, you WILL NOT be able to take the exam, unless there was an approved emergency which caused you to miss it, with valid proof.

ATTENDANCE POLICY

Regular and punctual attendance is expected of all students, in all classes, for which they have registered. Students must meet 90% of their required hours. The hours counted toward attendance will be for asynchronous learning. All absences are considered unexcused, unless the student is absent due to illness or emergencies, as determined by the instructor with valid proof.  It is the student responsibility to provide documentation as to the emergency for approval and judgement by the faculty member.  Approved college sponsored activities are the only absences for which a student should not be held liable, and only when provided by a college official ahead of the absence.  Valid reasons for absence, however, do not relieve the student of the responsibility for making up required work.  Students will not be allowed to make up an examination missed due to absence, unless they have reasons acceptable to the instructor with valid proof.  A student who is compelled to be absent when a test is given should petition the instructor, in advance if possible, for permission to postpone the exam.  Student will be dropped from a class by the Registrar upon recommendation of the instructor who feels the student has been justifiably absent or tardy a sufficient number of times to preclude meeting the course’s objectives.    Persistent, unjustified absences from classes or laboratories will be considered sufficient cause for College officials to drop a student from the rolls of the College. The last day to withdraw from this course with a “W” is July 17th, 2021.

 

DISTANT LEARNING REQUIREMENTS

 

 ONLINE CLASS-​ATTENDANCE IS REQUIRED

 

You must be PRESENT​​and ​PREPARED​ for the ​ENTIRE online class to receive credit.

You will not be admitted into the class after start time-therefore you will receive a 0 for that week's attendance grade.

 

DRESS CODE

 

  • You may wear your scrubs with smock over while on clinic floor or in classroom.
  • No jackets, hoodies or sweatshirts of any kind.
  • You must look professional and be in dress code during online class or while on campus.
  • No cell phones, if seen on your cell phone (without permission) you will be asked to leave for the remainder of the day and you may lose attendance for the day.

The Office for Students with Disabilities (OSD) provides support services for students with disabilities, students enrolled in technical areas of study, and students who are classified as special populations (i.e. single parents).
