Week 1 & 2
Syllabus Review
Syllabus Quiz – Must score a 100 (Student may take the quiz as many times as necessary to obtain a score of 100).
Ch. 1 –Foundation of Criminal Law, criminal law – noncriminal law, sources of law, classifications of crime, jurisdictions
Week 3
Ch. 2 – Elements of a crime – circumstances that affect the application of law.
Week 4
Ch. 3 – The Criminal Law in Daily Practice , a discussion of the steps and associated issues in the criminal justice system of Texas.
Weeks 5 & 6
Ch. 4 – Parties to offense, criminal responsibility, criminal liability
Exam 1, Chapters 1 - 4
Week 7
Ch. 5 – Criminal Homicide, The law of criminal homicide
Week 8
Ch. 6 – Assault and Sexual Assault, Discussion of various types of assault.
Week 9
Chapter 8 – Property Destruction Offenses, Review of laws pertaining to property damage and destruction.
Weeks 10 & 11
Ch. 9 – Theft, fraud and related offenses, Texas laws on theft, theft of service, fraud
Exam 2, Chapters 5,6,8 & 9

Ch. 10 – Robbery, Burglary, and Criminal Trespass
Week 13
Ch. 13 - Intoxication Offenses, public intoxication, DWI, intoxication assault, intoxication manslaughter

Ch. 14 – Preparatory offenses, organized criminal activity
