Course Description (NCTC Catalog): A study of the juvenile justice process to include specialized juvenile law, role of the juvenile law, role of the juvenile courts, role of police agencies, role of correctional agencies, and theories concerning delinquency.

At the successful completion of this course the student will be able to:

Describe the juvenile law and the role of juvenile courts

Explain the roles of police and correctional agencies concerning delinquency

Review and contrast the theories of delinquent conduct

Attendance is taken my students participation online and completion of assignments.

Class Calendar

It is important that you log in at least 3-4 days a week to be successful in this class. Logging in only once a week may result in you missing important announcements or changes. Monday’s, Wednesday’s and Friday’s would be suggested days, however, I suggest you check your email daily.

NOTE:

All folders will be turned on at 8:00 a.m. on Monday and turned off at 11:00 p.m. on Sunday with the exception of the final exam folder. The Final exam will be available from December 5th @ 8:00AM until December 7th @ 11:00pm.
