Mon, 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM (1/17/2023 - 5/13/2023) Location: COR COR01 363
Description
Chemical equilibrium; phase diagrams and spectrometry; acid-base concepts; thermodynamics; kinetics; electrochemistry; nuclear chemistry; an introduction to organic chemistry and descriptive inorganic chemistry. A continuation of CHEM1411.
Basic laboratory experiments supporting theoretical principles presented; introduction of the scientific method, experimental design, chemical instrumentation, data collection and analysis, and preparation of laboratory reports.
Upon successful completion, students will be able to: state the characteristics of liquids and solids, including phase diagrams and spectrometry; articulate the importance of intermolecular interactions and predict trends in physical properties; identify the characteristics of acids, bases, and salts, and solve problems based on their quantitative relationships; identify and balance oxidation-reduction equations, and solve redox titration problems; determine the rate of a reaction and its dependence on concentration,
