Course Description
Instruction in basic horsemanship skills including handling, saddling, safety, proper riding techniques, and basic health care will be discussed. Emphasis will be given to use of aids and cues; and proper leg, seat, and hand position.
48 lecture + 16 laboratory hours.
At the conclusion of the course a student will be able to: Recognize and employ basic handling and riding safety practices; identify and care for equipment and tack; and demonstrate proper leg, seat, and hand positions as they relate to riding techniques.
Prerequisite: AGEQ 1315 or AGEQ 1300.
