Contract the various mixes of shielding gases used for FCAW. Selecting the proper arc welding machine, wire feeder, shielding gad, flow rate, contact tube, nozzle size and welding type to produce an acceptable weld.  Correctly prepare metals for welding. Identify the potential safety hazards associated with FCAW processes in a working environment and describe ways of safely dealing with these hazards.

Procedure and Welder Qualifications

List several governmental agencies that use and produce various types of welding codes. Understand and relate the reasons for welding codes and specifications. List the essential and nonessential welding variables. Define “Welding procedure specification””welding procedure qualification record” and “welding performance qualification”. List the weld qualification test positions, describe what test specimens is cut form a weld sample and describe the type of test made on each specimen.
