Regular and punctual attendance is expected of all students in all classes for which they have registered. All absences are considered to be unauthorized unless the student is absent due to illness (doctor’s note required) or emergencies (documentation required). It is the student’s responsibility to provide documentation as to the emergency for approval by the faculty member. Approved college-sponsored activities are also excused absences. The instructor is responsible for judging the validity of any reason given for an absence. Valid reasons for absence, however, do not relieve the student of the responsibility for making up required work (quizzes are NOT included in the worked allowed to be made up). Students will not be allowed to make up an examination missed due to absence unless the absence is documented and excused by the instructor. Student will be dropped from a class by the Registrar upon recommendation of the instructor who feels the student has been justifiably absent or tardy a sufficient number of times to preclude meeting the course’s objectives.
Persistent, unjustified absences from classes or laboratories will be considered sufficient cause for College officials to drop a student from the rolls of the College. From Board Policy FC (LOCAL) (A student will be dropped if they missed over 4 unexcused absences regardless of grade).
TESTING POLICY: CLASSROOM
*All students must place your cell phone on airplane mode for the duration of the test. If a cell rings/makes noise during a test, then 10 points will be deducted from your overall grade
*All tests need to be neatly written, formulas written on each test question, students must show their work for ANY CREDIT (meaning only answers will be marked wrong even if it is a correct answer), and no ink pens are to be used while taking a test.
- In class quizzes will start at 8am and end at 8:10. Any student that is not in class at that time will not be allowed to take the quiz. The “in” class quizzes will consists of one question that will be either from the assigned homework, the videos, or the lecture sheets completed in class. Students may use their notes to complete the quiz.
- All other quizzes will be completed in MyStatsLab.
Homework POLICY: CLASSROOM
- Homework is to be completed in the student’s notebook that will be turned in for a grade. To find homework questions easily, please place the homework section and question number on the top of the right hand side of the paper. Neatness is counted as part of your grade.
- Recall you only have 10 minutes to complete the classroom quizzes.
- Turn off all electronic devices prior to entering class including cell phones, laptops, and tablets. During a few classroom projects you will be given permission to technology devices, but only with permission.

and test reviews.
- While taking a test, you are NOT to use any notes or information from the book, one 3x5 notecard with formula’s only is allowed for each chapter test. The final you may use all these cards, so keep them.
- Please do not ask me to reopen missed assignments in MyStatLab. Please work ahead.
- The final exam will be comprehensive and is required of all students.
