Course Description (NCTC Catalog): Collection, analysis, presentation and interpretation of data, and probability. Analysis includes descriptive statistics, correlation and regression, confidence intervals and hypothesis testing. Use of appropriate technology is recommended.

Grade Scale: 90 – 100% = A; 80 – 89% = B; 70 – 79% = C; 60 – 69% = D; Below 60% = F
COURSE SUBJECT OUTLINE
Online quizzes will be due most Sundays by 11:59pm. They are done through MyStatLab. You will have five attempts per quiz, and the highest grade of those attempts recorded. The lowest recorded quiz grade will be dropped at the end of the semester.
Excel assignments will be due on specific Fridays at 11:59pm. There will be four Excel assignments throughout the semester.
Exams are paper-and-pencil and will be given during class time on the exam dates. If a student misses a test, the instructor must be notified on or before the test date in order for the student to be able to make-up the exam.

Exam #1: Wednesday, February 7
Exam #2: Wednesday, February 28
Exam #3: Wednesday, March 28
Exam #4: Wednesday, April 19
Final Exam: Week of May 8 – 10
At the end of the semester, students will have the opportunity to re-do and explain test questions on one of the first 4 exams to get back half the points missed. More information and instructions will be posted on Canvas.
ATTENDANCE POLICY
Regular and punctual attendance is expected of all students in all classes for which they have registered. The instructor is responsible for judging the validity of any reason given for an absence. Valid reasons for absence, however, do not relieve the student of the responsibility for making up required work.
I will not drop students. If you decide to drop the class, it is your responsibility to do the paperwork required.
LAST DAY TO WITHDRAW
Last day to withdraw from a course with a “W” is Thursday, April 5, 2018.
