Course description: Comprehensive experience for the security curriculum. Synthesizes technical material covered in prior courses to monitor, audit, analyze, and revise computer and network security systems that ensure appropriate levels of protection are in place to assure regulatory compliance. 32 lecture hours + 32 laboratory hours.

SUMMARY OF COURSE ASSIGNMENTS
List of graded assignments: Reading assignments, demonstrations, videos, cloud-based labs, quizzes and a final exam
Final grade scale: 100
Late work policy: Each week an assignment is late will result in 10 points being taken off the submitted work. If an assignment is 5 weeks late, no credit will be given for that assignment.

Academic Integrity Policy:
Attendance Policy: Attendance is based on participation in the class, so you are expected to actively participate in the assignments and the graded discussion forums on a weekly basis. I also expect you to check your email every day on M-F for any additional content. Exams are not allowed to be turned in late (exam integrity). Discussion questions are only allowed opened during the week in which they are due.
Withdrawal Policy
A student may withdraw from a course on or after the official date of record. It is the student’s responsibility to initiate and complete a Withdrawal Request Form.

Student Learning Outcomes: At the conclusion of the course a student will be able to:
- Appraise security plan to ensure appropriate level of protection
- Assess network security design
- Audit network system based on security design
- Use relevant tools to assure security requirements
Core Objectives:
- Describe the role of information systems security (ISS) compliance in relation to organizations.
- Explain specific U.S. compliance laws and standards, and how they affect IT operations.
- Explain the scope of an IT audit for compliance and the use of standards and frameworks.
- Describe the components and basic requirements for creating an audit plan to support business and system considerations.
- Describe the parameters required to conduct and report on an IT infrastructure audit for organizational compliance.
- Describe information security systems compliance requirements within the seven domains of an IT infrastructure.
- Describe the qualifications, ethics, and certification organizations for IT auditors.
