Course description: Describes the architecture, components, and operations of routers and switches in small networks and introduces wireless local area networks (WLAN) and security concepts; provides an in-depth understanding of how routers and switches operate and are implemented in the LAN environment. 48 lecture hours, 64 laboratory hours.

COURSE POLICIES

Attendance Policy: Attendance will be taken from discussion forum participation. Students must make a post in the discussion forum to be log as present for the week. If no discussion forum is included in the weekly module, completion of the chapter quiz will be used for attendance verification.

 

Withdrawal Policy

A student may withdraw from a course on or after the official date of record. It is the student’s responsibility to initiate and complete a Withdrawal Request Form.

 

Last day to withdraw from the course with a “W” is  Nov 27,  2023

 

Student Learning Outcomes: At the successful completion of this course the student will be able to:

LO1      Configure, secure, and maintain routers and switches.

LO2     Resolve common issues with routing protocols, virtual LANs, and inter-VLAN routing in both IPv4 and IPv6 networks.

LO3      Configure WLANs.
