For this assignment, students are required to bring a one subject notebook to be used for nothing but answering in-class writing prompts or bringing questions about lecture into class. Journals will be graded randomly three times throughout the semester.
3 Participation
Since this is a flipped classroom, students must take an active role in classroom activities. Students will be assessed on their participation at the end of each unit.

ATTENDANCE POLICY
Students are required to attend every class. Since this class is using a flipped classroom model, students must come to class every session, or else they will miss important journal questions and receive a 0 for participation in classroom activities. IF a student must miss a class, they must inform the instructor ahead of time (or as soon as possible in the case of an emergency). This policy also applies to absences for school events and activities.

LATE WORK
Late work will only be accepted if the student followed the attendance policy and informed the instructor of an absence BEFORE the assignment due date. Any other attempt to turn in late work must be accompanied by a note from a doctor.
There will be NO makeups for missed journals or missed classroom activities.
ACADEMIC HONESTY
Violations of the NCTC Academic Honesty policy are taken very seriously. Violations include, but are not limited to: plagiarism, collusion, failure to cite sources, use of unauthorized sources, and others. Students who are caught violating this policy will receive a 0 for the assignment, and possibly a 0 for the course.

Unless specified as a necessary tool by the Office for Students with Disabilities, no electronic devices (i.e. computers, tablets, or recording devices) are allowed in the classroom during class time. Students should be prepared to print notes and other materials before class begins.
