Fundamentals of greenhouse construction and operation. Topics include architectural styles, construction materials, environmental systems and controls, growing media, fertilizers, post-harvest handling, marketing, and business management.

Late work policy:
Late work will not be accepted for any reason. Computer problems are not an excuse for late work. All assignments not turned in by the due date, within the assignment, will be given a zero in the grade book.

Attendance Policy:
Simply logging into an online course does not constitute attendance. Students will be counted as present for the week when the weekly assignments have been submitted. If the assignments are not submitted for the week, students will be counted absent.
Withdrawal Policy:
A student may withdraw from a course on or after the official date of record. It is the student’s responsibility to initiate and complete a Withdrawal Request Form.
Last day to withdraw from the course with a “W” is: April 4th, 2022

- Compare and select architectural styles and materials for greenhouse construction.
- Calculate heating, cooling, and light requirements, and select appropriate equipment.
- Determine cultural and business methods necessary for crop production.
