Paramedic EMSP 2364-0431 (Spring 2021)
Practical, general workplace training supported by an individualized learning plan developed by the employers, college, and student. By the end of the course, the student will be able to: as outlined in the learning plan, apply the theory, concepts, and skills involving specialized materials, tools equipment, procedures, regulations, laws, and interactions within and among political, economic, environmental, social, and legal systems associated with the occupation and the business/industry; and will demonstrate legal and ethical behavior, safety practices, interpersonal and teamwork skills, and appropriate written and verbal communication skills using the terminology of the occupation and the business/industry. 336 lab hours.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS, EVALUATION METHODS AND GRADING CRITERIA
Grading Scale:
A = 100 - 90
B = 89 - 80
C = 79 - 75
D = 74.99 - 66 (NOT PASSING)
F = 65 - 0
Students are expected to attend all scheduled classes. Should a student anticipate an absence from class, they should notify their instructor as soon as possible. Absences will be neither considered excused or unexcused. Students will be allowed the following absences.

o A quality general education curriculum in all associate degree programs.
o Quality freshman and sophomore level courses in arts and sciences which parallel the lower division offerings of four-year colleges and universities.
x Quality technical programs leading directly to careers in semi-skilled and skilled occupations, and quality technical education programs up to two years in length leading to certificates and associate degrees.
o Quality programs and services in support of adult literacy and basic skills development as a mean of workforce enhancement and expanding access to higher education.
PROGRAM PURPOSE STATEMENT
NCTC seeks to implement its goal of providing quality technical programs leading directly to careers in semi-skilled and skilled occupations, and quality technical education programs up to two years in length leading to certificates and associate degrees by offering a coherent sequence of courses with appropriate breadth and depth to prepare students for success in the workforce.
