Late work policy: Keep in mind, your instructor does not give grades, your instructor records
grades and all students should be held to the same standard.
No late work accepted! No excuses!
No make-up or redo assignments
All course assignments (except exams) opened at the beginning of the semester with
staggered due dates.
Required work not completed by due dates will not be allowed after due date
(example: due at 11:59 means 11:59, not 11:59:01) (plan accordingly)
No reduction of points for late assignments because there are no late assignments
accepted
Students will receive a zero for any and all late assignments.

COURSE POLICIES
Academic Integrity Policy: Policy: Scholastic dishonesty shall include, but is not limited to

dishonesty facilitation and collusion. Faculty members may document and bring charges
against a student who is engaged in or is suspected to be engaged in academic dishonesty. See

Consequences for academic dishonesty may include:
1) Receiving a grade of zero.
2) Dismissal from program.
Attendance Policy: Attendance Policy: Students are REQUIRED to attend school on the first
day of class. Only extreme circumstances with prior notification will be considered. Students
must meet 80% of their required hours.
Students are expected to attend all scheduled theory and laboratory classes. Because of the
large volume of material covered each day, and because laboratory experiences validate
learning objectives, it is extremely important that absences and tardiness be kept to a
minimum. Good attendance helps ensure success in the NCTC Cosmetology program.
Students are responsible for all missed announcements and course content. Student’s regular
and punctual attendance is expected at NCTC for the purpose of furthering their education and
attendance grades will be applied to each course enrolled in.
Students must meet 80% of their required hours.
Students should notify their instructor by 7:30am if they will be late or absent that day. A
student who does not call in by 7:30am, either to announce their lateness, or to excuse
themselves from school for that day, will have a “write up” put in their folders. In addition, a
student who calls in late, but then does not come in when they stated they would, or does not
come in at all, will also be written up. After five writeups, the student may receive a one-day
suspension. One more write up (for any reason) and the student may be DROPPED from the
program.
Withdrawal Policy
A student may withdraw from a course on or after the official date of record. It is the student’s
responsibility to initiate and complete a Withdrawal Request Form.
The last day to withdraw from the course with a “W” is: April 3, 2023
